You get the idea. I fill up my day with those little boxes and pat myself on the back as I cross them off.
But sometimes, you just need to let some things go. We've been battling sickness for, oh I don't know, how about all winter long and this week it hit me hard. So my to-do list for yesterday looked like this:
- Feed the child
- Don't let the child sit in her filth all day
Where's the rest of the list? That is the list. I laid on the couch and turned on Nick Jr. and dragged myself off the couch only when absolutely necessary. But I have loftier goals today. Today's to-do list looks like this:
- Don't let the child watch TV for 8 hours
- Bathe/shower self and child
- Put clean clothes on self and child
I've managed most of those, and now blogged. Why, I do believe that makes me an overachiever today! Sometimes, it's good to lower the bar. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to couch now. I feel a nap coming.

You poor thing! I have had it for 2 weeks and it stinks! Get better! And keep your bar lowered for a while! Hang in there!
I'm not sick and I haven't showered yet, Maycie is still in her pajamas. Annie on the other hand has had 2 baths because she isn't quite as potty trained as I thought she was. I'm sorry you are sick and I hope you feel better soon!
LOL!! I love this post! It just makes me happy that I'm not the only one who lowers the bar occasionally...or ever other day...or more :)
My to-do list looks like that when we're sick too. Although I let my child watch tv for way too long... it's the only way she'll hold still long enough to let her body get the rest it needs (and me as well haha) feel better soon!!
This sounds just like us. I don't want to even think about how many times alice had watched sesame street videos. She had them memorized. here's to spring!
Sounds like a good plan to me. :) Hope you start feeling better!!
We can all relate to this post! Especially this year for some reason. We've had one cold after another. I just keep telling myself that it's building up our immune systems for next year. I don't really care if it's true but it makes me feel better!
